When you go yabbying you should always throw back yabbies with eggs or small yabbies. It helps preserve the species as they can breed or grow up to be caught again or feed a platypus. A yabbie's eggs are small black spheres underneath the tail. The yabbies will be trying to curl up their tail to protect their eggs.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason my yabbie,mooky,is turning on to her side and is also curling up her tail.My dad says she could be having babies!And next time we clean our tank we'll turn my bro's yabbie over to see if it's a boy.My best friend saw little dots on it's third pair of legs though...Anyway,i am very EXCITED!!!
